In the world of young adult novels you always look for something that you’ve haven’t read before since so much is focused on paranormal beings like vampires, werewolves, etc. “The Body Finder” felt like a nice change. Yes, it follows the same formula, but Violet’s morbid gift made for an interesting and suspenseful read. Definitely a highlight for me was Vi’s relationship with her childhood best friend Jay, whom I just fell in love with, even though sometimes he just felt too perfect to be real.
There were some happenings that seemed a bit too contrived (i.e. Vi constantly putting herself in danger, Jay always being there to save her, etc.), but I decided to overlook these flaws since I enjoyed the overall storyline so much.
